These two hikes are very simple and are good for a quick adventure. Combine both and stay at Macqueripe Bay to relax and do some ziplining and you have yourself a day to remember. Try them on a morning when it’s not too sunny and when there’s not much traffic on afternoons heading out of Chaguaramas.
Both trailheads are located near the Chaguaramas Golf Course in Tucker Valley at the end of Bellerand Road. The golf course is a public one so if you’re into golfing, you can check it out. For details on how to get to Tucker Valley, refer to Getting To: Tucker Valley and Mapped Routes of these hikes are given in the following links: Edith Falls and Macqueripe Bay Trail.
So when you’re heading north on Tucker Valley Road, you’ll see a sign indicating the Chaguaramas Golf Course on your left (as shown in the picture below). Take the road as indicated (which is Bellerand Road) and simply drive along it until it ends at the car park next to the golf course’s club house. You can park there for free if you reach early (at least that’s what has always happened with me; really depends if there is a guard at the car park). Otherwise you can park near the Edith Falls trailhead which is right before the club house.
The picture below show the sign which indicates the trailhead to Edith Falls with a view of the club house and car park at the end of Bellerand Road to the north.
The trailhead for the Macqueripe Bay Trail is located to the north west of the car park behind the club house. You’ll see a sign as shown below referring to the trail at the corner of the car park. Simply walk west of that sign along the edge of the forest where you’ll come upon another sign. The trail then begins at that point.
